Backstage News On Last Minute Change To Mae Young Classic Final

Four rounds of hard-hitting action narrowed down a field of 32, and The Pirate Princess and The Queen of Spades are the last two competitors standing. She is a one-time World of Stardom champion, three-time Goddess of Stardom champion and four time Artist of Stardom champion in her previous promotion.

Sane, all 5-foot-1 of her frame, absorbed damage from Baszler throughout the match, twice failing to follow through with the top rope flying elbow before fighting Baszler off and hitting several signature moves, including a vicious double stomp as Baszler hung suspended from the turnbuckle.

As for Shayna Baszler, she is still under contract with Stardom, but much like Sane, she will most likely jump ship to WWE and sign a full-time contract.

With her big win, Kairi Sane has now earned the right to challenge for the vacant NXT Women's Championship.

Along the way, Baszler has enjoyed the support of her Four Horsewomen training partners Ronda Rousey, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke, though the WWE Universe hasn't been quite approving of Baszler's unsportsmanlike behavior (such as her refusal to break her rear naked choke on LeRae after the bell). Over the course of two days of competition at Full Sail University, they competed in a single-elimination tournament until just two women remained - Sane and Baszler.
