Jean-Claude Van Damme's son arrested for assault

Jean-Claude Van Damme's youngest son has reportedly been arrested for holding his roommate at knifepoint.

Nicholas Van Varenberg, 21, was arrested on Sunday in Tempe, Arizona.

The cops had a chat with Nicholas and his unnamed roommate and discovered he had injured his hand and subsequently left.

Van Varenberg appeared alongside his father in his first film, martial arts reboot Kickboxer: Vengeance, last year.

Tempe police were called to an apartment complex near Veterans Way and College Avenue after receiving reports of a disturbance in an elevator, police said.

However, the roommate ran down to the police 20 minutes later claiming that Van Varenberg held him at knifepoint because he was annoyed at the roommate for letting the officers into their apartment. "After Tempe PD left, Nicholas confronted his roommate about answering the door for police", stated TPD's Ron Elcock. Officers immediately searched the apartment, and say they found the knife and marijuana.

Van Varenberg was then arrested and booked for "aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful imprisonment, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia".

His bond was originally set at $10,000, but it is unknown how much bond was posted upon his release.

The Hollywood star's son was said to have been angry his flatmate had let police into their apartment.
