Jon Jones' B Sample Also Yields Positive Result

This is the second failed drug test of his career after he tested positive for anti-estrogenic agents ahead of UFC 200, with this failed urine test coming back positive for the anabolic steroid Turinabol.

Jon Jones' drug test failure from UFC 214 now appears to be set in stone with the results of his "B" sample.

"Mr. Jones "B" sample has confirmed the "A" sample findings," the spokesperson said. ESPN was first to report the finding Tuesday. "Importantly - as previously stated - due process should occur before drawing any conclusions about this matter", a USADA spokesperson confirmed in an email to

Jones faces a ban of up to four years because of the failed tests and could end up being stripped of his title.

There's no timeline on how long that could take to play out if Jones requests arbitration with USADA over the drug test results. He claimed the positive tests were a result of a contaminated sexual enhancement pill.

Jones can appeal this ruling, as he passed a blood test in the days before UFC 215 (the blood test didn't test for Turinabol) but for now, it looks like he's facing a lengthy legal battle, and his win over Daniel Cormier turning to a no-contest. He was eventually cleared of intentionally taking a prohibited substance, but suspended a year regardless for carelessly ingesting not one but two substances on the banned list - clomiphene and letrozole.

As of now, Jones remains on a provisional suspension pending the outcome of his adjudication process with USADA.
