Jose Mourinho confirms Paul Pogba will miss Manchester United's clash with Everton

Pogba has often been subject to criticism that his off-the-field antics overshadow his performances on the pitch, but I think it's safe to say that no one can claim that he is not providing the goods for Jose Mourinho this season.

Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford scored the goals for the Red Devils who moved to the top of Group A on goal difference.

Paul Pogba injured his hamstring against Basel.

An evening that started with him leading United out as captain for the first time was brought to an halt inside 19 minutes, with the 24-year-old reportedly seen leaving Old Trafford on crutches.

Seething Mourinho said: "Three points are important at home".

Mourinho will be sweating on the fitness of his star midfielder in a tough September that includes a trip to CSKA Moscow on top of domestic exertions.

"Probably the players felt the game was under control at 2-0 but football is football, you have to respect opponents".

"After 2-0 everything changed, we stopped playing seriously and stopped making right decisions".

The victory was built around a fine display from Fellaini, who entered the game on a negative note when stand-in skipper Paul Pogba had to be withdrawn with an apparent hamstring injury. We don't cry with injuries.

Speaking on BT Sport's Premier League Tonight show, Adam said: "We found that we could punish United at the sides of Pogba and Nemanja Matic because Pogba gets attracted to the ball and you can get to the opposite side of him".

"Big? Small? I don't know, but a hamstring for sure".
