Multiple injured, schools under lockdown amid reports of a shooting in Spokane

An automated warning that was reportedly repeating on law enforcement radio channels said, "Freeman High School".

An employee at the Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center told the Spokesman-Review that six people were wounded.

First responders and police were on scene. Two have been admitted to a hospital.

Authorities are responding to reports of a shooting at a high school south of Spokane, Washington. The ages and extent of injuries at not known.

A person has been taken into custody, according to The Spokesman-Review.

One Twitter user named Christina, a junior at the school, said she was evacuated to the nearby elementary school.

An automated phone call also went out to parents of Spokane schools students.

Annie Baxter, whose two daughters attend the school just across the street, said children were running into buildings when she approached the school in her auto.

All Spokane Public Schools have been placed on lockdown.

"They did a modified lockdown drill yesterday", she said.
