The Dead Hunt The Living In New Coco Trailer From Pixar

The Dead Hunt The Living In New Coco Trailer From Pixar

You've seen it before in "Spirited Away", and now you'll see it again with a Disney/Pixar twist in the upcoming "Coco".

A vibrant, colorful celebration of Mexican culture and mythos, Coco tracks the story of a young boy, Miguel (newcomer Anthony Gonzalez), who is desperate to establish himself as a talented musician like his long-lost idol. Beyond that, however, the story feels like a cursory exploration of the Dia de Muertos mythology. After playing Cruz's guitar, which was kept in his crypt along with his remains, Miguel enters the Land of the Dead and seeks out Cruz, while the inhabitants of that world look for the living boy.

Miguel discovers the gorgeous Land of the Dead in the new trailer for Pixar's Coco, the studio's next animated movie. A mystical event takes Miguel to the Land of the Dead, and he teams up with a charming ne'er-do-well skeleton named Hector (Gael Garcia Bernal) to uncover long-hidden family secrets. Character actress Renée Victor also joins the cast as Abuelita, Miguel's grandmother.

Ahead of the trailer release, Disney Pixar had also released a new poster.

Directed by Lee Unkrich ("Toy Story 3"), co-directed by Adrian Molina (story artist "Monsters University") and produced by Darla K. Anderson ("Toy Story 3"), Disney•Pixar's "Coco" opens in US theaters on November 22, 2017.
