Putin suggested Trump to normalize relations between Russian Federation and USA, media reports

Russian President Vladimir Putin in March proposed to the USA a restoration of diplomatic, military, and intelligence channels between both countries after relations were frayed following Russia's military interventions in Ukraine and Syria, BuzzFeed News reported Tuesday. "But, unfortunately, it saw no reciprocity".

During the latest round of closed consultations, held on Monday, the Russian side requested its Security Council partners to comment on the amended version, but no response has been received so far, a UN Security Council source told TASS.

We have discussed here in the past how Russian Federation is training North Korean students in transportation and logistics, providing fuel, and has opened a dedicated ferry line to move supplies, all starting earlier this year when Trump assumed the presidency and met with Chinese President Xi regarding the North Korean problem.

"I plan to participate in the meeting of the UN Security Council, where we will raise the issue of deploying the blue helmets", Poroshenko said.

The Russian plan called for the wholesale restoration of diplomatic, military, and intelligence channels that had been severed after Moscow's military interventions in Ukraine and Syria.

Amid the ongoing investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, Putin's desired reset was stopped in its tracks.

Perhaps even more revealing is the document's assumption that "Trump wouldn't share the lingering US anger over Moscow's alleged interference in the 2016 election and might accept a lightning fast rapprochement", BuzzFeed noted.

Trump met with Putin face-to-face in a scheduled meeting at the G20 summit in July then spoke again during an unannounced conversation at a dinner for world leaders during the summit.

Ties plummeted further in recent weeks as Moscow ordered Washington to sharply cut its diplomatic personnel in Russian Federation, and Washington ordered the closure of Russia's consulate in San Francisco. Congress has since passed a measure that restricts the Trump administration's ability to lift sanctions on Russian Federation. Before Moscow's deadline for the USA to reduce its diplomatic staff in Russia, the United States ordered the closure of three Russian facilities in the US.
