Target recalls 4-drawer dressers that could harm children

The recalled dressers could tip over and pose an entrapment hazard that could result in death or injuries to children. There was one known injury, in which one of the "Mainstays chests of drawers" made by Ameriwood Home tipped over and injured a 4-year-old.

On Wednesday, they released the recall claiming the dressers are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall. About 175,000 units were sold.

The recalled items were sold in Target Stores nationwide and online from January 2013 to April 2016 for around $118. The dressers measure 41 7/8 inches tall by 31 ½ inches wide by 15 11/16 inches deep.

The recalled dressers can be identified by a model number that is printed on the product's packaging - Model #249-05-0103 (black), Model #249-05-0106 (espresso), or Model #249-05-0109 (maple).

Consumers are being asked to immediately stop using the recalled dressers. Stores will offer a refund to customers, company officials said in a posting on the Consumer Product Safety Commission's website.
