British Airways Plane Evacuated In Paris For Security Reasons

Armed police and fire vehicles have reportedly surrounded the Airbus A320 following reports of a "direct threat" while the flight has been evacuated at the Charles De Gaulle airport.

Pictures and video from the scene show police and fire engines surrounding the plane as it sits on the runway at the airport. In the background a member of the cabin crew speaks to passengers, apologizing for the delay over the security threat and letting them know that staff were ready to greet them at the airport terminal to assist with their travel arrangements.

After an initial search was given the all clear, passengers are being put through X-rays and body scanners by armed officers. We will all be led off the aircraft & baggage searched in due course'. And it was then the police and fire officials surrounded the plane on the tarmac. Now hold luggage being searched by dogs'.

Flight BA0303 to London Heathrow, due to leave Paris at 7:25am local time, was delayed by over three hours and evacuated, as security teams searched the plane.

The plane remains on the ground and is yet to depart.

Charles de Gaulle Airport confirmed extra safety checks were underway.

Mr Anderson told Express.co.uk: "Initially the pilot told us there were technical issues".

British Airways while regretted for the inconvenience faced by the passengers, they emphasised that security of the passengers is their top priority.

One passenger said those on board were informed by the pilot that an individual had made a direct threat against the aircraft.

He added: 'We were then told the aircraft had to move to another part of the airport.

This "threat" comes amid the explosion in the London Tube on Friday which injured over dozen people.

"Additional security checks are being carried out as a precaution".
