Colin Kaepernick gets support from Jay Z and Chris Rock

"I want to dedicate this song to Colin Kaepernick tonight", Jay-Z said of "The Story of O.J". I want to dedicate this song to Dick Gregory.

"I want to dedicate this song to anyone that was held back and you overcame", Jay Z added, while also dedicating the song to legendary comedian and activist Dick Gregory, who died last month.

Kaepernick, of course, has yet to find a spot on an NFL roster this season, a development some attribute to his choice to kneel during the national anthem last season to protest what he deems the oppression of black people in this country. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way". Hov put on a show last night (Sept. 15) at the 2017 Meadows Music and Arts Festival, complete with a dedication to activist/football player, Colin Kaepernick.

Jay-Z said he wanted to transform the show into rock "n" roll territory when he played his collaborations with Linkin Park, even paying tribute to the band's lead singer Chester Bennington, who hanged himself in July. "When we are able to identify that we are all not flawless and have compassion for someone else, we can move forward as a society". I say this because the NFL Players Association named free agent QB Colin Kaepernick the victor of its Community MVP award for Week 1. He has donated almost $1 million over the past year.
