Donald Trump's Tweet On London Train Bombing Just Speculation, Says Britain Minister

"The threat level remains at critical and there will be further investigations and part of the operation later today", Rudd told reporters.

"Severe" means a terrorist attack is thought to be highly likely, whereas "critical" suggests it is imminent.

But on Sunday, Ms Rudd announced it was being downgraded.

British Home Secretary Amber Rudd dismissed US President Donald Trump's tweets in the wake of Friday's terrorist attack in London as "pure speculation". However, the Metropolitan Police said it was "routine" for the group to claim it was behind attacks in which it has actually had little direct involvement.

On Sunday, Scotland Yard said that a 21-year-old man had been arrested in Hounslow, south-west London, shortly before midnight.

He was arrested under section 41 of the Terrorism Act and taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.

British police are searching a home in the London suburb of Stanwell linked to the arrest of the second suspect in the subway bombing.

On Saturday morning, police arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the attack at Dover. He is the second man arrested on suspicion of being involved in Friday's attack on a London subway train that injured 30 people.

Police had earlier searched a house in Sunbury believed to be linked to the first suspect, who was arrested at the Dover ferry port.

Local politician Ian Harvey said: "One thing I understand is that he was an Iraqi refugee who came here aged 15 - his parents died in Iraq".

One or two residents who spent the night elsewhere have been returning to the road to collect belongings - they are being allowed to do so only with a police escort to and from their home.

Friend Alison Griffiths said the couple had an 18-year-old and a 22-year-old staying with them recently.

Bomb-making materials are understood to have been hidden in the £350,000 terraced home behind the foster parents' back.
