While the Mi Max 2 was initially launched with 64GB of inbuilt storage, the Chinese phone maker will be launching a 32GB variant that will fall under the sub-Rs.15,000 category. The company tweeted from its official Twitter account about the launch of this new variant.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a full metal unibody with 6.44 inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display. The volume up-down keys and the power/lock button are all placed on the right-hand edge of the device and a 3.5mm audio socket is placed on the very top edge of the phone.

However, as an introductory price, the Mi Max 2 32GB variant will be available for as low as Rs. 12,999 in the first sale, which will be held on Amazon India, Mi.Com, and Mi Home stores on September 20. The Mi Max came with a 4,850 mAh battery, while the Mi Max 2 takes it up a notch and packs in a 5,300 mAh juice pack. The Mi Max 2, at the same time, can offer up to 31 days of stand-by, just like the Nokia 3310 (2017), according to Xiaomi. It runs MIUI 8 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and it is scheduled to get MIUI 9 update as well. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with Adreno 506 GPU. With the other one with Snapdragon 435 Chipset and a fingerprint sensor further comes in two options: one with 3GB RAM and 32GB Storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB of storage.

In terms of connectivity, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 supports dual-SIM dual standby using the hybrid dual-SIM slot (Micro-SIM + Nano-SIM/microSD). On the front, it sports a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture and real-time beautification options.

To recall, the major highlight of the smartphone is the massive 5300mAh battery, which the company claim can give two-day battery backup. The smartphone is fueled with a powerful 3,080 mAh of battery with Type-C charging.
