The iPhone X may be very hard to buy until 2018

Pre-orders for the all-screen iPhone X start on October 27 and the phone launches on November 3.

While the phone is going on sale from November 3, a report from KGI Securities' analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, states that the flagship iPhone X will see a a very high demand but the company would not be able to ship that much, until next year.

According to Kuo, Face ID, full-screen design and AR support of the iPhone X will be main features that will drive the sales of iPhone X. Previously, he had speculated that Apple would be shipping 50 million units of the iPhone X in this year.

Apple has chosen more than a month-late pre-order opening for the iPhone X, in comparison to iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus models.

"Due to supply constraints, we expect market demand won't be fully met before 1H18", Kuo wrote in his report sent to MacRumors.

He anticipated that the iPhone X shipment will be around 40 million units for the first half of next year.

Apple recently unveiled the new iPhone X - pronounced as "iPhone 10" - along with the upcoming iPhone 8 and 8 Plus at the opening of the Steve Jobs Theater last September 12.

In the Android world there are many more cheaper alternatives than the iPhone X, but you will have to be willing to switch to a completely different operating system, and possibly abandon (or at least spend time transferring) your purchases in iTunes and the App Store.

The bezel-less OLED screen and advanced front-facing camera system are reportedly hampering the production of the iPhone X. Kuo had predicted in the previous week that Apple will be producing less than 10,000 units of iPhone X per day.

The downbeat note - which referred to the iPhone X's staggering $1,856 price tag - came as the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus failed to generate a feeding frenzy after becoming available for pre-orders on Apple's site early on Saturday morning.

Some critics cited Apple's decision to delay the launch of the iPhone X, which the company has dubbed "the future of the smartphone". Here, the iPhone 8 is tagged at INR 64,000 and 77,000 for the 64GB and 256GB variants respectively.
