Man Utd could win Premier League: Andy Townsend

Ander Herrera has ramped up the mind games insisting Manchester City's summer spending makes them Premier League favourites, with Pep Guardiola's trophyless first season meaning they now have a greater obligation to win titles than Manchester United.

Both sides have had an excellent start to the campaign with the two Manchester clubs joint-top of the league table, but Herrera stated City's heavy spending means that they should be "principal contenders" to lift the trophy come May.

The two clubs lead the way on 13 points with an identical goal difference of 14 (16 goals scored and two conceded), while the defeat leaves Everton in the bottom three.

"I think that we have to try and build from something and I think we can build form this performance today because we were really well organised when we didn't have the ball". There is pressure when you spend a lot but there is also pressure on us because we are the biggest club in England.

"We won three titles last season [the Community Shield, League Cup and Europa League] and Man City didn't win anything", Herrera told reporters.

At the Britannia, Stoke City played a high line and put so much pressure on the United defence that they became flustered and lost their composure.

Lukaku, prolific but sometimes lacking desire at Everton, is following in those footsteps, scoring seven goals in seven appearances for United to transform an attack that was often held in check too easily last term.

"Real Madrid are going to talk about it every summer because he is the best keeper in the world".

Tempers frayed near the end with Chelsea's David Luiz shown a red card for a wild tackle on Sead Kolasinac - their third red card of the season from only five league games.

Spurs already cannot match their incredible home record at White Hart Lane last season and the seven points they've dropped at home in 2017/18 are already more than they dropped in their final season at White Hart Lane.

Will United miss Paul Pogba over the coming weeks?

"It is only one game (although they did score five against Liverpool as well I guess) but they were a joy to watch".

"We will try to be there as well", the midfielder proclaimed. "We have quality as well and we will fight." .

"That is the standard this season along with the power of Jose's Man United and I do not think anyone would argue against the suggestion this is going to a hard league for anyone to win". I know how lucky I am to play for Manchester United.
