Kejriwal, Kamal Hasan to meet for Lunch, meeting to be political

One AAP leader said that Kejriwal had specially flown to Chennai to have this "important meeting" with the popular actor.

Days after actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan said that he might launch his own political party, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is all set to meet the southern superstar in Chennai on Thursday.

Mr Kejriwal also reviewed the Delhi government's key projects, including mohalla clinics, during a meeting with his Cabinet colleagues. They are expected to have "political discussions", the functionary said without giving any details. The objective of the meeting is "open-ended for now", sources revealed.

According to media reports, the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind kejriwal would also visit a Tamil Nadu government-run skill development center in Chennai. He had discussed the political situation in the state.

Kamal Hassan is apparently excited about the meeting as he has organised a lavish lunch for the AAP convenor. However, this meeting highly suggests that Haasan is eyeing the local body elections scheduled for November.

Over the last few months, Haasan has been very vocal about the current state of politics in Tamil Nadu and has been dropping hints about taking the political plunge.

He had congratulated the CPI (M)-led LDF government in Kerala for "good governance" on its first anniversary in May this year. I will join him provided he enters politics. "The education minister has already given directions to concerned departments to work on the specifications of the CCTV cameras that will be required , As Reported By Hindustan Times". AAP now has a party unit in Chennai. "There are questions whether I will join hands with Rajinikanth in politics".
