Kevin Durant apologises for 'idiotic' comments about leaving Oklahoma City Thunder

A fan had responded to a post from Durant on Sunday, asking for "one legitimate reason" why the eight-times National Basketball Association all-star would leave the Thunder for the Warriors, a move he made last summer.

Speaking on Tuesday at the TechCrunch Disrupt event in San Francisco, Durant apologized for the criticism of Oklahoma.

Kevin Durant doesn't regret his engaging and arguing with basketball fans on Twitter, but he does regret throwing former head coach Billy Donovan under the bus in his recent social media gaffe. That was childish. That was idiotic, all those type of words.

Using the third person, Durant wrote in the tweet: "He didn't like the organization or playing for Billy Donovan". Kanter went on his own Twitter page to address Durant's posts and said: "Those cats, I call them FAMILY".

"Imagine taking russ off that team, see how bad they were", he tweeted. But I happened to take it a little too far. The Warriors are expected to be even deeper and stronger than past year, and Durant - who made the transition look fairly seamless last season - will likely have an even easier time adjusting to the team that many consider the sole contenders to win the championship. "I apologise for that". He told USA TODAY Sports' Sam Amick that it just "kind of looked that way", while revealing that he couldn't eat or sleep for days after the Twitter incident because of how disgusting he felt about it and how angry he was at himself.

The world is debating Durant's claims that "His roster wasn't that good, it was just him and russ" even though the Thunder built a 3-1, Western Conference Finals lead on the Warriors just weeks before his departure for Golden State, even though the organization was readying for the very real possibility of adding at-the-time free agent and four-time All-Star Al Horford had Durant agreed to stay in the summer of 2016.

"I just don't remember it", Durant told the Los Angeles Times a few days after the incident caught fire. "That was just me being a total [expletive] idiot". "I want to move on". "It's just really sad". "He's an egg avatar now, I have no respect for him". We all know what he thinks of his former teammates now.
