Real Madrid lose left-back Marcelo to leg injury

Marcelo will not feature against Deportivo Alaves on Saturday, and is likely to also miss matches against Espanyol and Getafe in LaLiga, as well as the Champions League meetings with Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham.

The club is yet to pick a point this season after five games and former boss Luis Zubeldía has already paid the ultimate price for the team's disastrous start to the season. "I'll have my own feelings but the match is Alaves against Real Madrid, that's the most important thing for me".

"He added of the Betis loss, where Antonio Sanabria struck a stoppage-time victor: "We had 27 chances and the ball didn't want to go in".

"We have the chance to be able to change that quickly and we'll do it".

There won't be a Zidane family reunion at Mendizorroza as Enzo Zidane, Zinedine's oldest son, can't feature for Alaves due to the terms of his loan move from Real.

Perhaps a matchup with Alaves is just what the doctor ordered-Alaves has lost all five of its La Liga games on the season and have not scored a goal on the season.

And Enzo is hoping Alaves' can kickstart their season, even if it comes at the expense of the club coached by his father and who he played for from the age of eight until just a few months ago.

"It will be unusual, but also lovely". Enzo Zidane played for Madrid's youth teams, including a stint under the orders of his father, for several years before signing a contract with Alaves this offseason.

They may be seven points off the pace, but coach Zinedine Zidane has urged his troops to remain calm, as Real Madrid look to mount a comeback following a series of poor performances at home this season.

Zidane senior said: "Hopefully he doesn't score, because we're competitive".

"We have come back from many points behind to win the league before". No, no, I've always been a shining star, don't worry.

"I don't think about bad luck, that's part of football and the good news is that we have a match tomorrow".
