The 'Pretty Little Liars' Spin-Off of Your Dreams Is Actually Happening

The 'Pretty Little Liars' Spin-Off of Your Dreams Is Actually Happening

It shouldn't come as much of a shock that there is a possible Pretty Little Liars spin-off on the horizon. Freeform has announced a new spinoff series called Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

Based on the popular book series written by Sara Shepard, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists will transport viewers to Beacon Heights, a town which seems like the ideal little town but is far from what it appears to be.

According to a press release, the "Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists" is set in the town of Beacon Heights where everything seems flawless, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents. Apparently, the stress of keeping up this perfect-seeming facade quickly leads to a murderous twist, throwing Alison and Mona into the middle of yet another thrilling whodunnit.

This is great news in just about every way, but especially because back when the spinoff was first rumored, the cast unanimously agreed that Pieterse's Alison should be the lead character, because "she has such a messed up past" and "is still very unstable". But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. "We can't wait to continue Marlene King's rich and revolutionary storytelling with a new crop of leading ladies from Beacon Heights who will hold just as many secrets and lies as Rosewood did". Marlene King, is developing the pilot and Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish are reprising their roles as Ali and Mona, respectively! The project was first put in development at Freeform in November 2014, with King and Shepard, the author of the original Pretty Little Liars book, opting to connect it with the original hit. Could The Perfectionists secretly be the Emison spinoff that we've been waiting for, or does this mean trouble for the couple?

Pretty Little Liars ranked as cable TV's No. 1 drama across target 18-34 and 12-34 measures during its final season, winning its time period in each of its 160 originals in the key demographics. We just have to wait and see if the pilot order becomes a series order, and if anyone watches after that. The best part is, the Pretty Little Liars ties don't end there! Equally confusingly, Mona was in Paris raising Alex and Mary Drake as her own personal Barbie dolls, in the finale.
