Zarif Says New US Travel Ban "More Offensive"

Zarif Says New US Travel Ban

In fact, Iran fired two long-range nuclear-capable missiles in March of the following year which specifically defied an existing U.N. Security Council resolution 2231. The nuclear agreement - also referred to as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) - is now being defended by other parties that signed onto it along with the United States under the previous administration.

"We can not let a murderous regime continue these destabilizing activities while building unsafe missiles, and we can not abide by an agreement if it provides cover for the eventual construction of a nuclear program", Trump told the Assembly. "Anybody who says we [could] get the ideal deal with those kinds of partners is just dreaming". Iran has defensive needs.

European diplomats were cautious on Monday not to criticize Trump, but it was clear they were frustrated by his insistence that it would be easy to reach a new agreement more favorable to the West.

He went on to declare that the "Iran deal was one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into". The new sanctions are a clear indicator that Trump wants to isolate Iran without sufficient cause, and leaving the nuclear deal will further weaken US diplomatic reputation internationally.

Former Obama national security advisor Susan Rice was very wrong in recently advising that we might learn to "tolerate" living with a nuclear North Korea as we have with a nuclear Russian Federation. "What kind of signal would it send to North Korea", he asked. He was speaking at an event hosted by the Institute for the Study of War.

The warning from the European Union ambassador came ahead of an October 15 deadline, when President Donald Trump has to inform to Congress whether Iran is complying with the nuclear deal. He continued that we can not "enforce the agreement even if we detect unambiguous violation because enforcement depends on the U.N. Security Council".

The missile was tested during the same week that Trump said that he had come to a decision about whether he would stay or withdraw from the #Iran Nuclear deal, which he initially promised to leave the nuclear deal during his campaign.

The UK envoy added that they also discussed "starting, at some point, within the context of this agreement, talks with the Iranians on the sunset clause and what comes next". It has "changed the climate already on Iran", Darroch said, "so it's succeeding, we would say let's carry on with that, let's intensify those discussions, but let's keep the JCPOA".
