Colin Kaepernick's Girlfriend Affirms His Commitment to #TakeAKnee

Soon after, the Know Your Rights Campaign, a youth campaign fully funded by Colin Kaepernick, posted a note to social media written by Kaepernick's girlfriend, Nessa Diab, that said the report was "completely false".

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is attempting an NFL comeback, but whether he would sit or stand for the national anthem is still not confirmed.

Protesting the treatment of people of color by the police, Kaepernick began kneeling for the national anthem last season, a display that was met with both support and vitriol from the NFL community.

Having been out of action for almost a year, Kaepernick still wants to play in the NFL.

La Canfora said on Twitter he was relaying other reports about the athlete's plans for demonstrations, not referring to their conversation specifically. Moreover, he has said all proceeds from his jersey sales would be donated to charity.

Kaepernick, who kneeled during the National Anthem while quarterback for the 49ers a year ago to protest racial injustice and police brutality, spoke with CBS NFL Insider Jason La Canfora on Saturday about his future as he remains unsigned by a team.

"Standing for Anthem wasn't something that I spoke to Colin about Saturday".

He also tweeted, "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its trousers on", which he attributed to Winston Churchill.

While all this is in line with other recent reporting about Kaepernick, La Canfora appeared to break some news towards the end of the segment.

But La Canfora later said he and Kaepernick didn't talk about kneeling during the anthem, even though that answer sounded as if they did. He also claimed that the quarteback will stop kneeling during the anthem in his bid to fully focus on football.

While Kaepernick has not commented directly on La Canfora's report, a tweet was more than telling.
