Mesut Ozil's agent gives massive update on Arsenal future

United have also been strongly linked with a move for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil in the recent days.

'Ozil wants to play another 2-3 years in the Premier League, ' Sogut told Turkish outlet Fanatik.

Reports have claimed that the German worldwide has already reached a pre-agreement with the Red Devils to join them on a free move once his contract with the Gunners expires next summer.

Inter Milan, Besiktas and Manchester United, now managed by his former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, have all been touted as possible destinations for a player said to be seeking a salary in the region of £300,000-per-week. Our contact with Arsenal continues and we are moving in a positive direction.

Ozil is yet to sign a contract extension at Arsenal with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

But his representative Erkut Sogut has revealed they have not received an approach from Besiktas and claimed the midfielder wants to remain in the Premier League.

Ozil has come under fire this season after a disappointing start to the campaign.

This is sure to go down well with Arsenal fans, who will be relieved to hear that their most creative player is likely to sign a new contract at the club. Obviously, it's good news that the club could keep hold of one of the key players in the team but it's slightly damning that none of the other top sides in Europe were interested in him if these reports are to be believed.
