Taylor Swift announces new fan app with 'Taymojis'

The singer has partnered with Glu Mobile to roll out The Swift Life, an app that's light on official details for now, but appears to be a social platform for Swift fans.

The app is due in "late 2017" and will let fans "connect with Taylor and each other through message boards, quizzes, etc" TechCrunch reports.

Glu did not immediately respond to CNET's request for a comment.

Taylor Swift has opened up a new battleground in her current blitzkrieg on pop culture. What the app costs, if anything, was not revealed in the initial announcement.

"We've worked closely with Taylor and her team to bring her creative vision to life", said Nick Earl, President & CEO of Glu Mobile in a statement.

In a video announcing the app, Swift says that she's got something "pretty awesome that we've been working on for a while that I want to share with you". Kim Kardashian should better hold on tight to her crown because Taylor is coming. Or, as the special TSwizzle smileys and such will be called, "Taymojis". And though her direct interactions with fans have cooled down a bit in a year when she's considerably reduced her public persona, Swift still has a devoted, highly interactive fan-base.

The Swift Life app has a place to chat with Swift fans, and will have its own Emoji collection.

And in case you somehow forgot, since she's only released two, deeply mediocre songs (both of which have forced me to replay the first half of Speak Now to remember where she came from), Taylor Swift's Reputation is out in a little less than a month, on November 10. "I mean, I hope", Swift joked in the app's teaser video released Wednesday (October 11).
