Arsenal haven't made Mesut Ozil a contract offer

Ozil's agent Dr Erkut Sogut confirmed the talks over a new deal has been "positive" so far as his client is eyeing for two or three more seasons in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger says it is "possible" both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil could leave Arsenal in the January transfer window.

PSG star Dani Alves has claimed that "it's a possibility" that Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez will join the Parisian side.

However, Wenger insists the lack of extension yet does not mean Ozil won't stay long term at Arsenal.

"It's always hard to have players like Alexis against you, with this quality and level but we've been concentrating the whole game and we've done a great job", the 34-year-old told Radio ADN.

"I hope the situation can be turned around".

Sanchez was part of the Chile team that were eliminated from the World Cup on Tuesday - in part due to an error for Colombia by his Arsenal team-mate David Ospina - and will be assessed for both his mental and physical state when he returns to England this afternoon.

Asked if he was anxious about Sanchez's mental state, Wenger said: "I will have to speak to him".

"It is my understanding [that he wants to stay]", said Wenger of the Germany global.

Wilshere has yet to make a Premier League appearance this season after recovering from a broken ankle but has played well in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.

"I am more concerned that yesterday afternoon I watched the whole game, Brazil against Chile, to see how hard the game was and I must say he got some special treatment in this game".
