Injured Shkodran Mustafi set to miss Arsenal's trip to Watford

Injured Shkodran Mustafi set to miss Arsenal's trip to Watford

"We've lost Mustafi for about four to six weeks", said Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

News regarding Wilshere's return to full fitness comes amid concern that defender Shkodran Mustafi could be braced for an extended spell away from the Arsenal first team after limping out of Germany's World Cup qualifying win over Azerbaijan.

Mustafi suffered the muscle problem while on global duty with Germany against Azerbaijan as the holders secured their place at the 2018 World Cup on the back of 10 straight qualifying wins in Group C.

At his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Watford, manager Arsene Wenger has now revealed that the centre-back could be missing until the end of November. I don't think he'll be available before the next worldwide break.

The former Schalke 04 man has made six appearances in all competitions during the current campaign.

With Calum Chambers also sidelined through injury it could mean Arsenal go into the Watford match without four senior defenders.

Summer signing Sead Kolasinac is a doubt for the weekend after picking up a hip problem while playing for Bosnia although Laurent Koscielny could play a part and he is set for a fitness test on Friday.

Arsenal will be looking to maintain their winning run when they take on Watford FC in the Premier League this weekend.

Wenger said: "Kolasinac is a minor problem, a hip problem".

'Koscielny has a definite final test tomorrow but at the moment he is not available. We will check him today. I think about sorting out the problem, but overall I will decide completely tomorrow the line-up because Koscielny will have a test.

Alexis Sanchez will be assessed when he returns from global duty after he received "special treatment" following Chile's 3-0 defeat to Brazil.
