Jose Mourinho's reaction to Roberto Martinez playing Romelu Lukaku for Belgium

Jose Mourinho's reaction to Roberto Martinez playing Romelu Lukaku for Belgium

Lukaku is Manchester United's top scorer this season having made a blistering start to life at Old Trafford with 7 goals in 7 games, while on the Road to Russian Federation he's scored 12 goals in 15 games. I don't think the state of the pitch played any part.

"You can say we have not played one of the top five teams yet".

This situation could prove awkward for Romelu Lukaku for he may have to choose between club and country, Manchester United and Belgium fans will definitely not want to this player to a petty squabble and will hope that Roberto Martinez and Jose Mourinho work this out in a timely manner. We are playing against a good team with very good players.

But it was Jose Mourinho that appeared to kick up the most fuss.

The former Everton midfielder has been in impressive form so far this season, scoring four times in his first eight games, including a brace in the 4-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace.

That has happened to a series of Premier League managers this time around.

Mata became an important figure for United, and that remains the case now that he is working with Mourinho again.

"I'm not surprised with Salah's performance this season", Mourinho told BeIN Sports, quoted by Metro.

Cole, 45, whose son Devante has been scoring goals for Fleetwood Town, has been bumping into Zlatan Ibrahimovic in United's gym during his training workouts.

Mourinho would have certainly loved to see his player rested, but would have been glad to see that he is fully fit to start against the Reds at Anfield on Saturday. "It would be unfair to say Lukaku and Matic didn't have an impact in the improvement of the team - of course they did".

Filipe Luis was signed by Mourinho after his solid displays in Atletico Madrid's La Liga-winning campaign in 2013-14, but only spent one season at Stamford Bridge before returning to his old side having made just 15 appearances for the Blues.
