Amazon on Thursday said the seasonal jobs will be spread out over more than 75 fulfillment centers countrywide to help pick, pack and ship holiday orders.

It's getting harder to find holiday employees with unemployment now at 4.2%, the lowest jobless rate since 2001.

The online superstore has just announced they are hiring 120,000 temporary workers across 33 states for the 2017 holiday season. More than 12,000 of those positions will be at its warehouse and distribution centers in California.

Amazon said it is creating more than 120,000 positions at its USA network of fulfillment centers, sortation centers and customer service sites for the holiday season and more than 1,500 of them will be in CT, according to a local public relations agency.

Some of them have one-day hiring fairs coming up very soon for holiday positions.

Amazon officials say the vast majority of its associates - roughly 90 percent - work for the company full time. Some of these short-term jobs also get converted to full-time, regular positions, says Amazon.
