Gal Gadot lined up for post-World War II revenge thriller Ruin

Ruin was written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. Gadot, if she signs on, would be able to film Ruin and then immediately get to work on Petty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 2.

The film is being handled by Marc Butan's Mad River Pictures and will provide another chance to see Gadot outside the costume she has made so famous in recent years.

The trade blog reports that the movie is in the same vein of Inglorious Basterds and Fury, and revolves around a 'nameless ex-Nazi captain navigates the ruins of post-WWII Germany.

Coming off her turn as Diana/Wonder Woman in the standalone film and Justice League, Gadot may be seeking a role that takes her away from superhero fantasy and into a more gritty and realistic milieu.

However, bosses will have to snap up Gadot quick as she's also reportedly in talks to star alongside Bradley Cooper in "Deeper" after she was approached by Max Landis. The Australian director's 2015 adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, and he also helmed 2016's Assassin's Creed, based on the video game franchise of the same name.

Fassbender and Cotillard were again on board for Kurzel's adaptation of video game franchise Assassin's Creed in 2016, and while that third film was less successful at review, it more or less doubled its US$125 million (RM527.1 million) production budget on a US$240 million global box office.
