Lawler, dos Anjos headline UFC Winnipeg card

In one corner, we'll have former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler. The event's main card, including the Lawler vs. dos Anjos headliner, airs live on FOX following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass. The 32-year-old also topped Tarec Saffiedine via unanimous decision back in June. After being knocked out by Tyron Woodley at UFC 201 in July 2016, he spent a year away from the cage before returning at UFC 214 this past July. As such, this fight could very well produce the welterweight division's next title challenger. UFC Winnipeg, otherwise known as UFC on Fox 26, takes place December 16.

The fight for Lawler, now ranked as the No. 1 contender to Woodley's throne, will be just his second since losing the belt.

For dos Anjos, the Brazilian will be looking to keep his undefeated streak going in the 170-pound weight division.

Other bouts planned for the night include Glover Teixeira vs. Misha Cirkunov, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Jared Cannonier and Tim Elliott vs. Justin Scoggins.

Chad Laprise (13-2) of Chatham, Ont., will face London-based Galore Bofando (5-2) in a welterweight fight.

Prior to falling to Woodley, Lawler had won his first two title defenses, topping Rory MacDonald via TKO - the second time that he had beaten MacDonald - in July 2015 in addition edging Carlos Condit by split-decision in January 2016.

UFC Winnipeg (UFC on FOX 26) takes place December 16 at the Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
