President Trump to Address 12th Annual Values Voter Summit

He cited his nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. And the audience at the Values Voter Summit, an annual socially conservative conference, didn't fail to deliver.

'From my perspective, I do believe this president is a man of god.

"America is a nation of believers and together we are strengthened and sustained by the power of prayer", Trump said.

President Donald Trump on Friday pledged to an adoring crowd of evangelicals his commitment to religious liberty, as he declared that his administration was "substantially ahead of schedule" in delivering on campaign promises.

He also said he's "stopping cold" attacks on Judeo-Christian values.

Trump laced his remarks with other comments about faith. The event is sponsored by the Family Research Council.

The FRC announced Tuesday that Trump was going to address the VVS, the billionaire real estate mogul being the first sitting president to do so in its history.

"Values voters have waited eight years for a leader who puts America's mission first and respects the values that made America into a great nation", said FRC President Tony Perkins in a statement.

"[People] don't use the word "Christmas" because it's not politically correct", Trump said, apparently unaware that you are not allowed to even mention the holiday until at least Thanksgiving.

"President Trump's executive order on religious liberty and the follow up actions last week by HHS and DOJ, demonstrate that he is committed to undoing the anti-faith policies of the previous administration and restoring true religious freedom".

President Donald Trump plans to promote his first-year accomplishments and argue for his tax plan to conservatives on Friday.
