Rahul Gandhi ridiculed for his 'childish behaviour': Adityanath

The BJP on Friday mocked Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for visiting temples in poll-bound Gujarat, saying votes can not be fetched by merely visiting temples and praying to God but through work.

In his signature style, Adityanath came down heavily on Rahul, ridiculing for the contradiction between his words and actions in the Congress scion's own Parliamentary constituency of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. "In the last 14 years, being an MP from Uttar Pradesh, he has not even built an office of the district collector. How can he develop Gujarat?" The Yatra will culminate in a grand "mahasammelan" on October 16 in the outskirts of Ahmedabad which will witness the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national chief Amit Shah.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday cleared the air regarding party vice president and his son Rahul Gandhi's elevation and said he will soon take over as Congress chief. People who couldn't build a collectorate in Amethi after ruling there for 3 generations, what development will they bring to Gujarat? In 70 years since Independence, they developed themselves. Accompanied by other seers, Adityanath visited the Nath Ashram in Bilimora and addressed a gathering there. On being asked about chances of BJP securing over 150 seats in the Gujarat elections, he told ANI, "Easy target for BJP as development and infrastructure work done here is a symbol of trust". "Uttar Pradesh has adopted the Gujarat model of development and is implementing many schemes", he said. Adityanath is also likely to meet representatives of the North Indian community leaders at Surat - a textiles and diamond hub.

Earlier in the day, the UP CM was shown black flags by a group of Congress supporters in Valsad city's Dharampur road.
