Case Keenum expected to start vs. Packers on Sunday

Facing an inconsistent Packers defense in a game that the Vikings could be playing from behind in if Aaron Rodgers continues to perform at an elite level, Keenum is an upside QB2 for Week 6.

Head coach Mike Zimmer made the announcement Friday as the team prepares to host its NFC North rival.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Case Keenum throws a pass during a game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on October 9, 2017.

Bradford missed three games before returning for last Monday's 20-17 win at Chicago but was ineffective and replaced in the final minute of the first half by backup Case Keenum. His timetable to return to the practice field is unclear.

The Vikings also ruled out starters Stefon Diggs (groin) at wide receiver and Nick Easton (calf) at left guard.

The Vikings and Packers kickoff at noon on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. Keenum has played fairly well this season, with four touchdown passes and no interceptions.

On the other side of the ball, the Vikings got safety Andrew Sendejo back at practice Friday after he was held out Wednesday and Thursday with a groin injury. Easton will become the first Minnesota offensive lineman to miss a start this season.
