Mercedes-Benz Recalls 400000 Cars In The UK For Potential Airbag Issue

Those included in the widespread worldwide recall are the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, B-Class, C-Class and E-Class models, as well as the CLA, GLC, GLK and the V-Class.

"Cars are safe to drive under normal operating conditions". There were no fatalities reported either due to the potential issue on its cars. So when the driver turns the steering wheel, some wires are failing to earth properly.

Mercedes said the driver airbag warning light and red airbag warning lamp could be displayed by error.

The vehicle manufacturer said affected customers would be contacted about having their auto recalled and repaired.

A spokesperson said that all customers whose vehicles might be affected will be contacted. "If the airbag warning light comes on then customers should call Mercedes-Benz Roadside Assistance (00800 1777 7777), or contact their nearest retailer". The complete replacement will be made free of charge, the automaker said in a statement.

Mercedes-Benz has announced a major recall which could affect as many as 400,000 cars in the UK.

While there have reportedly been no incidences of airbags unintentionally deploying in the United Kingdom, the recall has been triggered by several cases worldwide.

A spokesman for Mercedes-Benz in the ULK said: 'We are recalling certain A, B, C, and E-Class, and CLA, GLA, and GLC, built between November 2011 and July 2017'.
