Warhammer: Vermintide 2 "Will Not Be Selling Loot Boxes"

Warhammer: Vermintide 2

In an interview with GameReactor, producer Martin Wahlund talked about the new enemy of Vermintide 2 that would be joining the Skaven - Left 4 Dead-inspired rodents from the first Vermintide. "If you liked the first game, you'll love the second". There's five characters to play, each with their own unique weapons, and 13 levels to complete (plus some more if you pick up the game's DLC).

We'll be able to swing our axes at hoards of overgrown rats once more when Warhammer: Vermintide 2 launches on PC and consoles early next year. Other new features include 15 hero careers, a range of new environments, enhanced talent trees and a proprietary Heroic Deeds System. One of the biggest challenges is making the combat feel distinctly different when you're fighting a Skaven group or Chaos group. "The Skaven are squishy, they come in numbers; the Chaos are much fewer and they are really sturdy and tough".

The fifteen career paths will have different abilities, talents, and weapons, and they will be needed because a new threat is coming.

Vermintide proved to be a surprise hit when it was originally released back in 2015, so it's no surprise that we're getting a sequel. You can also check out gameplay screenshots below.

Vermintide 2 does not yet have a specific release date beyond Q1 of 2018, but it's available for pre-order on Steam now for $30.
