Nintendo Switch hits 2m sales in the US

Some other new enhancements with the 4.0.0 update are new profile icons from Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild, and support to pre-purchase certain games on the Switch's eShop storefront.

The Nintendo Switch can now capture 30-second chunks of gameplay for a select number of games thanks to an update that hit the system overnight. They also noted that fans can still expect the same kind of fast-paced action from the game. And this is just the beginning-Nintendo says video capture support will come to many more games in the future. Sadly, another limitation is that the Switch can only record 30 seconds of game footage at a time. The feature is now only compatible with "select games". Super Mario World, Kirby Super Star, Street Fighter II, Donkey Kong Country, and Star Fox are among the great games that can be played on the Super Nintendo Classic. The key words there are "Switch consoles" - as per the transfer FAQ, you'll need access to both Switch consoles during the process.

The Nintendo Switch has sold 2m units in the USA, the platform holder has announced, after the console claimed its third straight month at No.1 in the U.S. hardware charts.

There are also some smaller features which include the ability to pre-load pre-ordered games and a new look for the News Feed.

Beyond that, Nintendo rolled out a "Transfer Saves and Settings" feature that allows you to easily transfer or backup save files and settings from your console to another. The first titles that will work with this feature are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS and Splatoon 2. You will be able to choose which user you want to be moved to the new console.

In addition, the update also has news channel updates, as well as being able to match your software version with a group of local users.
