Katy Perry left hanging at concert after prop malfunctions

The other day, Katy Perry was minding her own business atop a dangling platform during a show (as ya do), when suddenly she got trapped.

Katy Perry had a mechanical malfunction during a Tennessee concert of her Witness world tour on Wednesday, leaving her stuck in the air. Instead, she was left stranded atop the miniature Saturn, where she quickly started ad-libbing to the crowd to fill time. "I could be stuck here forever", she joked. According to a concert reviewer from The Tennessean newspaper, the planet malfunction wasn't the only production difficulty at the gig, as a shooting star prop also failed to appear on cue.

Katy Perry had to jump into a crowd full of fans at her Nashville show on October 18.

"I'm not talking about the voices in my head, they're just people", she laughed. "Should I tell some jokes, should I tell some stories, should I just sing another song?"

"I guess I'm just going to have to get down and walk amongst my people", she said.

As stage hands tried to figure out how to get her down, Katy told the audience to take out their phones to capture this "YouTube moment".

After about two minutes, the singer was lowered manually to the ground, but could not get all the way down without crushing the audience.

The star can be seen in the video below addressing her crowd from her seat atop a planet that was, presumably, supposed to lower her onto the stage for her next song.
