Trans Woman Convicted of Sexually Assaulting 10-Year-Old Girl

A Wyoming man who identifies as a woman faced a jury Monday as he went on trial to face charges of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in a bathroom.

Martinez proceeded to grope her breasts and genitals and penetrate her.

Miguel Martinez faces one count of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

Police officers found Martinez passed out on a couch in a home in Evansville.

A sexual assault examination found redness and abrasions on the child's genitalia, and rape was confirmed. According to Casper Star Tribune, the incident occurred in a Casper, Wyoming during a gathering of family and friends.

When police initially questioned Martinez about the assault Martinez became "noticeably hostile and defensive" and said the girl was "talking crap" before denying being a child molester.

According to court documents, a breath test showed Martinez was drunk on the night of the assault, with a blood alcohol level of.218, nearly three times the legal driving limit.

The victim, a 10-year-old girl, told police that Michelle Martinez - formerly known as Miguel Martinez - molested her at the home in March, Fox News reports.

When confronted by police, Martinez claimed the girl was lying and using it as a "publicity stunt". Martinez was arrested and pleaded not guilty last May, and now the trial is underway.
