Juan Martin Del Potro and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga both lift ATP titles

"I knew it was not going to be easy but at the same time I thought I kept a very good intensity throughout".

Del Potro has made a late-season charge to put himself within striking distance of qualifying for the ATP tour finals in London.

Juan Martin del Potro boosted his hopes of qualifying for the ATP Finals and delayed confirmation of Grigor Dimitrov's likely qualification by beating the Bulgarian in straight sets to retain the Stockholm Open title.

The world number 19 broke at 2-2 in the first set before serving nine aces in total as Dimitrov failed to convert any of his four break points. Dimitov had his best chance to break del Potro's serve in the next game, getting three break points, but del Potro saved all three.

Del Potro, the 2009 US Open champion, will be looking to claim a 20th career title and become just the third Argentine player to reach the mark after Guillermo Vilas, who won 62 titles and Jose Luis Clerc who ended his career on 25.

Juan Martin del Potro is set to move into the fourteenth position in the 2017 Race to London.

Despite Dimitrov's recent success against the Argentine, del Potro has now beaten Dimitrov in six of their eight career meetings. Unfortunately I couldn't bring a lot more fight today.
