'Phantom Thread' Trailer: Paul Thomas Anderson & Daniel Day-Lewis Reteam For Love

A trailer has been released for Paul Thomas Anderson's latest film Phantom Thread, which stars Daniel Day-Lewis and is soundtracked by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood.

Watch the trailer and poster below and let us know what you think.

Paul Thomas Anderson makes mesmerizing movies. He's a director that's openly rebelling against traditional narrative cohesion at this point, and instead going for tone and theme above all else, which makes for pictures that equally captivating and frustrating.

Phantom Thread opens on December 25. I may not always love Anderson's movies, but I always find them fascinating.

Set in the glamour world of '50s post-war London, the film stars Day-Lewis as renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock and Lesley Manville as his sister.

The three-time Academy Award victor plays Reynolds Woodcock, a renowned dressmaker in 1950s London who leads a luxurious bachelor lifestyle until meeting a young, strong-willed woman, Alma (Vicky Krieps), who soon becomes a muse and fixture in his life. Everything could fall apart when the unpredictable nature of love throws off his carefully tailored life.

Phantom Thread will arrive in theaters 12/25.

The three-time Oscar victor is retiring following the release of the new movie, written and directed by his frequent collaborator Paul Thomas Anderson.

Despite the presence of Day-Lewis and Greenwood, Phantom Thread marks a departure for Anderson, whose filmography to date, which also includes Boogie Nights, Magnolia and Punch Drunk Love, has been set nearly entirely on the west coast of the US.
