Donald Trump calls Tom Steyer 'wacky' after impeachment call

California businessman, progressive and concerned citizen Tom Steyer has jumped into the political fray with an impassioned plea to impeach President Donald Trump.

The $10 million national ad campaign is part of a growing movement to remove Trump from office.

Although Republicans control both chambers of Congress, Steyer said a previous GOP-controlled House has impeached a president "for far less" - referring to former President Bill Clinton's impeachment after his affair with Monica Lewinsky. "Sign on now", reads the website, which is also how Steyer opens his video.

President Donald Trump on Friday reacted to a television ad by California billionaire and Democratic donor Tom Steyer demanding that Congress impeach Trump by calling Steyer "wacky & totally unhinged", and, worse, saying he "never wins elections!"

It's been a running joke among politicos and media people all year that the best way to get the attention of cable-news-obsessed President Trump is to place an ad on his favorite nework: Fox News. Afterward, Trump praised the show. He calls Trump "mentally unstable" and "armed with nuclear weapons".

"He's brought us to the brink of nuclear war, obstructed justice at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and in direct violation of the Constitution, he's taken money from foreign governments and threatened to shut down news organizations that report the truth", Steyer says in the ad.

Steyer fired back at Trump on Twitter on Friday morning.
