Sony Launches Two Budget Xperia R1 Smartphones In India

In terms of memory, the Sony Xperia R1 comes loaded with a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

Apart from that, both of them comes with a 5.2-inch HD LCD display, they are powered by a Snapdragon 430 chipset and are now running on Android Nougat 7.0, although the company claims that will receive the Android Oreo update pretty soon.

These phones offer 13 megapixels rear camera with LED flash, Exmor Sensor, and Predictive Hybrid Focus. These phones support two Nano SIM cards and have a dedicated MicroSD card slot available, which can be used simultaneously with both the SIMs. The battery on both is a 2620mAh battery.

Earlier this year at IFA 2017 in Berlin, Sony introduced a number of handsets, including the Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact, and Xperia XA1 Plus. Sony Xperia R1 Plus and Xperia R1 can also be bought via Sony Center and major mobile stores across India as well as Amazon and Flipkart online. Both the devices will be available starting November 10 in black and silver colour options. Both the smartphone feature Sony's loop surface design with a 2.5D curved glass. On the front we have an 8MP camera with beauty mode and face detection. The Xperia R1 Plus packs 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage.

The Sony Xperia R1 and R1 Plus smartphones from Sony are not going to sell like hotcakes. On the front, the smartphone sports an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter with hybrid autofocus. It measures 146.00 x 73.20 x 8.89 (height x width x thickness) and weigh 154.00 grams.

For connectivity, these phones offer options of 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C. Both the smartphones also support Uplink Data Compression (UDC) that allows users to download web pages up to 50 percent faster for its improved data transmission technology.
