Falcons WR Julio Jones talks about dropping easy TD pass

"He said some spiritual things to me".

The Falcons started the season 3-0 but have dropped four of their past five, including Sunday's 20-17 loss to Carolina in their NFC South opener. Running back Ezekiel Elliot may play against the Falcons after another ruling was made that he could play shortly after a suspension was originally handed down earlier this week. I think we've played mediocre, but yet I don't think we're a mediocre team. "We are a way better offense than that".

Now at 4-4 and heading into the second half of the season, the Falcons know it's time to actually correct those problem rather than just acknowledge them.

Forget about all the talk from previous year and how the high-octane offense that averaged 33.8 points per game struck fear in everyone, leading to a Super Bowl berth. They haven't been efficient on third down. Anytime they have been beaten in recent memory it has been when the other team forces them to beat them throwing the ball or beats them in time of possession and winding the clock down. And they've struggled in short-yardage situations for reasons ranging from the offensive line getting dominated, Sarkisian's play-calling not being up to par or players not making plays.

"The ball has been moved up and down the field", Ryan said. "We've all got to be a lot better across the board". I really believe that.

Should that change, the confidence level in the Falcons' offense to finally catch fire won't be taking a major leap for their Week 10 matchup with the Cowboys. The only opponent left on the schedule with a sub-.500 record is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-6).

"I didn't take advantage of the opportunity", Jones said after the drop, via the team's official website. "But none of that matters".
