Flipkart Billion Capture+ launched with dual cameras: Price, specifications

Flipkart, which is the leader in the crucial smartphone category, boasts of key partnerships with top phone brands such as Xiaomi, Samsung, Vivo and Oppo, all of whom have competing products with Billion.

Furthermore, there's a dual-camera setup on the rear along with a fingerprint sensor beneath it. The company might use any of these implementations, but it will offer features like portrait mode, 4K video recording capability, and most probably the X2 optical zooming capability.

Now, the company has announced the Billion Capture+ in the Indian market starting from Rs. 10,999.

Smartphone is one of the biggest categories for Flipkart, which is locked in a fierce battle with US-based Amazon for leadership in the booming Indian e-commerce market. The optics arrangement houses one regular 13-megapixel RGB lens and another 13-megapixel Monochrome one which, in theory, should allow the camera to capture relatively more accurate colors than the competition. "With Billion Capture+ we believe we have provided a great combination of value, specifications and a quality product", Bansal said. Flipkart has used a USB Type-C port in the smartphone.

However, with Flipkart launching its own brand, other smartphone players could possibly withdraw selling their smartphones from the platform, thus affecting the sales of the ecommerce major.

A Mint report quotes Hrishikesh Thite, head of the Billion category says that the smartphone will come in two variants 32GB and 64GB. The company has specifically mentioned that the handset comes with "no unnecessary bloatware", meaning the interface may be close to stock Android. It will have a 5.5-inch full HD display with 401 PPI and 2.5D Dragontrail glass on top for extra protection. The page also reveals fast charging support for the new Capture+ smartphone. Additionally, the phone is powered by 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU.

The attraction of Billion Capture+ smartphone is the addition of Android Nougat, which helps you to work all the latest features such as split-screen, improved multitasking and enhanced power saving mode via Doze. Flipkart will offer "No Cost EMI", discounts on leading debit/credit cards for the sale of its Billion Capture+ phone. Moreover, the company says it has now 130 service centers in 125 cities and towns across India.
