Xbox One X hits 80,000 United Kingdom sales in first week

The Xbox One X sold 80,000 units in the United Kingdom during its first week, which puts it at pace with the first week sales of the Nintendo Switch, and the first four weeks' combined sales of the PS4 Pro, which sold 50,000 in its first week in November 2016. Past year the publication reported that the PS4 sold 50,000 units during its launch week, managing to sell a further 30,000 units after four weeks on sale.

The Xbox One X performing as well as the Switch and charting so high above the PS4 Pro has likely been helped by the stock shortages the other two consoles suffered, though it's still a very promising start for Microsoft's 4K console.

It took the PS4 Pro four weeks to hit 80,000 units sold.

Among the games that have been bought with the console by the British players, the list includes Call of Duty WWII, Assassin's Creed Origins, FIFA 18, Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 3. However in the graphics department, this is where the Xbox One X has the lead with more TFLOPS and also more memory with 12GB of GDDR5 RAM versus the PS4 Pro's 8GB of GDDR5 RAM.

Leading up to release of Xbox One X we released a ton of videos showcasing the consoles power, especially with the 360 back compat games.

More than 70 games supported Xbox One X at launch, with that number set to increase each week.

Sharing data on sales, retailers across the country have provided an insight into the reception for Microsoft's latest and greatest console.
