Bengals Player: Officials Have Provoked, Cursed Vontaze Burfict Multiple Times

ESPN's Adam Schefter, one of the most reliable and best-sourced National Football League reporters, posted a report on ESPN's blog Monday following Burfict's run-in with a down judge on the sideline during the Bengals-Titans game in Nashville Sunday.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Burfict will not be suspended for making contact with a referee during the game, but it will be "reviewed using the standard process for a possible fine".

The linebacker could still be fined for the incident.

After getting called for a tick-tack personal foul out of bounds, Burfict then made contact with an official and was ejected for accumulating two personal fouls. Burfict took his time leaving the field, talking with fans, raising both arms and finally jumping to high-five a fan before going into the locker room. He started this season with a three-game suspension for a hit during the preseason.

It was the second game in a row that the Bengals (3-6) had a star player ejected before halftime. Green was tossed in Jacksonville for fighting.
