Giants owners throw support behind Ben McAdoo for rest of 2017

He's got us going 80% on Saturdays before we get on a plane to play a game, it's wild.

Given the specter of "quitting" that has been lurking in the locker room during this 1-8 season, might McAdoo be inclined to yank a player who is lacking the "desire to finish"? The players themselves continue to search for answers as to how they have gone from an 11-win playoff team to one that matched the worst start for the team since 1980.

After Goodwin torched the Giants on an 83-yard pass from C.J. Beathard, giving the 49ers a 10-6 lead in the second quarter, Goodwin had a very emotional reaction in the end zone and on the sideline. That kind of logic is beyond laughable and if that's the mindset of Kyle Shanahan, I'd have to seriously question his sanity. "It's sad that I'm sitting here talking about us competing in games instead of talking about winning but that's the truth".

Following a 31-21 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, a defiant McAdoo insisted there was no "situation" as it related to his job security, and he obviously turned out to be correct despite some lingering reports to the contrary.

"I feel good", Shanahan said following his first win as an National Football League head coach. Beathard will start again Sunday. He did it early in the first quarter. Now they finally have a win, and Joe Staley couldn't be happier.

Quotable: "I don't think we can talk about Robert Woods as a possession receiver anymore after the last couple of weeks".

Goodwin played for the Bills from 2013 until 2016.

McAdoo replaced Tom Coughlin as head coach past year and led the Giants to an 11-5 record and their first playoff berth since the 2011 season.

"We are in the midst of an extremely disappointing season", the owners said in the statement. But Beathard and the offense bounced back when he rushed for an 11-yard touchdown. "To have them still out there going like that with how many we've lost in a row, that's what gave us a chance to win today". Peterson had 159 rushing yards the previous week against the 49ers.

"That's not my plan", Shanahan said. "It was tough work for us to get our first win, and we got it".

As we expected, the Cowboys were badly hurt by the absence of a superstar on Sunday night as they fell to a 27-7 defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons. "We need to tackle better as a defensive unit, and he was a part of it".

Following a team photo on Monday, players and coaches will disperse around the country for some much-needed rest and relaxation. Hitting the reset button from a mental standpoint is essential with six games left to play in 2017.
