According to the same story, Manchester United are confident Herrera will commit to a contract extension despite the lure of a return to Spain.

Manchester United are back in the running to sign Antoine Griezmann after the France forward's demands reportedly fell on deaf ears at Barcelona.

Italian website Calciomercato.com sourced a report from Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo, which said Griezmann is aware Barca are aligning the right pieces to launch a move for him next summer and "welcomes it wholeheartedly". The Spanish outlet claims the forward had asked Barcelona to guarantee that whenever fit, he would be a starter for the club.

But United's major hurdle is being able to settle on a transfer fee with Atletico. Velverade will be looking to reduce the burden Lionel Messi is carrying on his shoulders with the signing of Antoine Greizmann.

There is a principle agreement between Griezmann and Barcelona, which will not be denied by either party despite a slew of reports.

The Reds have recently been linked to Griezmann's Atletico teammate Saul Nigez as well as Real Madrid's Marco Asensio.

The deal has been put in motion since last summer, ever since Neymar left for PSG.

"We have to keep our concentration in the decisive moments of matches". But at the Wanda everything is spectacular.

Interestingly the German midfielder previously played 159 games for Atleti's city rivals Real, before his move to North London, but that doesn't seem to have dissuaded Simeone. A quieter figure both on and off the pitch, Ozil's lack of leadership qualities may prove decisive, particularly since the retirement of Philipp Lahm and Bastian Schweinsteiger. The last twelve months of his stint at the Emirates, though, have been dominated by widespread speculations surrounding his future.
