Ben Affleck wants a 'cool way' to leave the DC universe

After Justice League his next appearance is expected to be in the solo outing.

Warner Bros. has released a new Justice League promo that showcases Aquaman's (Jason Momoa) recruitment into the DC Comics superteam, under the suggestion of Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne.

In the meantime, fans will be able to see Affleck don the iconic cowl one more time when Justice League hits theatres on Friday, Nov. 17.

The latest version of this story comes from USA Today, where Affleck himself floated the idea that he might not play Batman anymore. There were reports of production related issues of the film earlier. He handed the task to Joss Whedon, whose style and sensibilities filled what the movie lacked.

Part of the appeal of this genre is wish fulfilment: "Wouldn't it be nice if there was somebody who can save us from all this, save us from ourselves, save us from the consequences of our actions and save us from people who are evil?" said Affleck. An announcement, perhaps handed down from Wonder Woman, that Batman had died.

Damon, who starred alongside Affleck in Good Will Hunting, Chasing Amy, Dogma and many more memorable movies, also showed up in a comic book film recently - fans will remember that he had a amusing cameo in Marvel Studios' Thor: Ragnarok. The Amazonian Goddess is also one of the core founders of Justice League and she seems to be a scene stealer in this film as well.

Affleck's hint of sexual chemistry in the upcoming movie might not go far. You may have seen the TV series but that's a different DC universe that's quite (in) famous for Barry messing up timelines. Snyder, and to some extent Whedon, won't likely go for a full-blown romance. Casey Affleck later said he was only joking. On the upside, Marvel head Kevin Feige is open to having Damon reprise his role in future MCU films. Ezra Miller will play the role of The Flash who can travel at a lightning speed and his interactions with Bruce Wayne seem fun.
