The Twitter account also revealed President Buhari inaugurated 2 multi-billion naira flyover projects built by the Ebonyi State Government on a section of the African Trans-Saharan Highway that runs through Enugu, Cross River, and Cameroon.

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived the Akanu Ibiam International airport in Enugu on a two-day visit to the South-East.

The governors at the airport were Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi).

This is Buhari's first visit to the region since the inception of his administration in 2015, and it's a trip laced with significance in light of separatist pressures and sweeping feelings of marginalisation among Igbos.

"When I met with leaders of the south east last month in Abuja they raised several issues of concern including the state of roads in the region. Our 2018 budget include many strategic projects for the region in roads, power, agriculture and social sector", the president said.

Buhari's next stop in the tour is Ebonyi state. I thank you all. I am also grateful to the traditional rulers of Ebonyi State for the honour bestowed on me with the traditional title of Enyi Oha 1. "It is an honour that is well deserved, it has helped us a lot, especially in the area of agricultural revolution", the governor said.

"And today, sir you are with us".

"Such an act of accommodation is what translates a mere leader to a great father of the Nation", he said.
