Byron Maxwell signing with Seattle Seahawks, per reports

According to ESPN's Brady Henderson, the Seahawks have promoted Mike Davis from the practice squad to replace Prosise on the active roster. Sherman, a four-time Pro Bowler, will end his 2017-18 campaign with 35 total tackles and two interceptions.

The Seattle Seahawks have signed veteran cornerback Byron Maxwell to help make up for the loss of Richard Sherman to a season-ending Achilles tendon injury.

Almost a full calendar year later, Maxwell was shipped to the Miami Dolphins. He spent just one season with the Eagles before being moved to the Miami Dolphins and was released from the team back in late October. During the 2015 free agency period, the 29-year-old defensive back hit pay dirt with the Philadelphia Eagles en route to signing a six-year, $63 million deal in his first home outside of Seattle.

Maxwell was a member of the famed Legion of Boom in Seattle between 2011 and 2014. Prosise injured his ankle in Seattle's win over Arizona last week. He was then claimed by Seattle and emerged as the team's leading rusher in the preseason with 106 yards on 24 carries with a long of 38 while also catching five passes for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Davis was a fourth-round pick of the 49ers in 2015 out of SC.
