J&K: 3 militants arrested during Kund operation in Kashmir

Earlier while breifing the medimen about the ongoing Jund opration, Khan said the operation is being carried out in the forest area of Haalan-Kund area of Qazigund, in southern part of Kashmir's Kulgam district.

Inspector general of police (Kashmir range) Muneer Khan said most youngsters between 15 and 25 years are lured into militant ranks because they can not differentiate between good and bad. "In a show of solidarity, officials and representatives from the State Government and other security agencies also joined in paying their last respects to the slain soldier", said a handout issued by Army.

Three militants, Atta Mohammad Malik, Shams-ul-Wiqar and Bilal Sheikh, have been captured alive.

"We have been appealing to the local militants that if they signal surrendering even during the encounter then we wouldn't kill them, adding that "it is our commitment to give a chance to local militants to join their families".

He said one of them, Atta Muhammad Malik, was caught in an injured condition.

Meanwhile, the neutralised terrorist has been identified as Muzammil Manzoor Dar.

Poor academic performance, relentless Pakistani social media campaigns and religious indoctrination are the primary reasons behind Kashmiri youth taking up militancy, a senior police officer told mediapersons in Srinagar on Thursday.

He said that three militants have been arrested in the operation.
